Adat Chaim Synagogue Welcomes Rabbi Laurie Green

Rabbi Laurie Green brings 17 years of rabbinic  experience, having served congregations in Colorado, DC, Maryland and New York, as well as schools, camps, hospitals, nursing homes and hospice. She is most passionate about teaching Torah and about pastoral care, interests she currently uses at Adat Chaim and at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center.  Rabbi Green is committed to building sacred community, enlivening spiritual practice, and reinventing the synagogue for the 21st century.  She lives in Baltimore with her wife, Mira, their two children, August and Solveig, and three dogs with Yiddish names.

Adat Chaim is a small congregation that enjoys coming together as a Jewish community to celebrate Shabbat each week, festivals, and holidays throughout the year. We are proud to serve the northwestern part of Baltimore County and Carroll County and beyond.

Adat Chaim is a warm and welcoming Jewish congregation located in Owings Mills, MD. Our approach to Jewish life is simple, integrating a deep respect for traditional Judaism with the insights of contemporary life. Our membership's enthusiasm defines purposeful and meaningful Jewish living. Our members believe that Jewish learning is a lifelong process!

  •         We have been able to re-imagine ourselves over the last three years. We have engaged our members and adapted our service and learning opportunities both on Zoom and in-person.
  •         We have studied together on topics dealing with the underpinnings of liturgy, Jewish ethics, and the wondrous workings of the Jewish spirit and the Jewish imagination.
  •        We respond to requests for needed resources and support in the greater Baltimore community.
  •        Adat Chaim donated over 100 siddurim to a congregation in need in the Midwest! What a wonderful feeling to assist another congregation.
  •       Our Sisterhood members provide support through donations to a variety of organizations in the Baltimore area to help them serve those in need.
  •       We have been present at the JCC Community Block Party and Reisterstown Festival.
